Lepantos Vienna

Na wie geht’s euch? Wie einige gestern vielleicht schon erkannt haben befindet sich der heutige Sommer-Hotspot in der Nähe des Stephansdom in der Ballgasse 4, in der Wiener Innenstadt. Der Name des heutigen Hotspots lautet Lepantos.

Das Lepantos ist eine Eisdiele die anders ist als alle anderen. Die Einrichtung erinnert an die Frozen Joghurt Lädens Wien - chic und reduziert. Das Besondere im Lepantos sind aber die wechselnden Eissorten: Heute standen zur Auswahl – Melone/Jasmin, Campari/Orange, Tahiti Vanille, Ingwer/Honig, Basilikum, Caramel/Meersalz & Heidelbeer/Limette. Ich muss ehrlich sagen, vor solchen Mischungen hatte ich immer Respekt und mich noch nie getraut zu probieren. Aber ganz ehrlich? Es schmeckte sogar richtig gut! Die Eissorten wechseln täglich – wenn eine Sorte leer ist, kommt die nächste nach. Der Chef selbst kreiert die Rezepte, welche mit einer Konditormeisterin direkt im Laden umgesetzt werden.

Mein Fazit: Bei heißen Temperaturen – ab zu Lepantos – normale Eisdielen können auch mal warten!

How are you doing? As some of you may noticed- todays hotspot is located just a few metres far away from St. Stephan Cathedral – in the Ballgasse 4. The name of this summer hotspot is Lepantos. What’s special about this shop you may ask – just read more.

Lepantos is a ice cream shop, wich is different. From the furniture and design it reminds me more on the frozen shop stores I have already visited – chic and simple. BUT the special thing about this shop is definitely the ice cream – today I were able to choose between – melon/jasmin, Campari/orange, tahiti vanila, ginger/honey, caramel/sea salt & blueberry/lime. Honestly I have to say, that I was always afraid to try such experimental ice cream variations – but I have to say, that they were fantastic! The ice cream variations change every day – if one ice cream is empty –the next follows. The owner himsef creates the recipes and a pastry chef produces the ice cream in the shop.

My conclusion: If it is really hot outside – go to lepantos – the other ice cream shops can wait!
